As vehicles increasingly become computers on wheels, what secures the computer? Who decides on it? In this session, we explore how software, hardware, law, and safety intersect in the automobile industry. We explore: the repercussions of weak cybersecurity in the industry, the electrical-electronic architecture of automobiles, the vulnerability points of this system, the current industry standards for securing these points, the upcoming updates to these standards, and finally the social benefits of having a strong cyber-secured system.
